National McNair Conference '03

Over 140 participants from 26 schools attended the University of Delaware's first National McNair Scholars Research Conference.

Oral presentations were organized into panels, modeled after the professional conference format. In 2003, nearly 70 presentations were delivered on topics ranging from education policy to cell migration and growth.

Poster presentations, delivered in the lobby of our conference, ranged in topics from molecular biology to parenting roles.

Dr. Beverly Tatum, President of Spelman College, meets with scholars after her keynote speech on passion and vocation.

Lionell Flamer (in blue), our conference emcee, poses with the Urban Bush Women, a dance group from New York.
